Warehouse Logistics and Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to support the long-term growth and strategic vision that we have for our deal of the day websites BabySteals.com, KidSteals.com and ScrapbookSteals.com.   This position ensures we honor our daily promise to customers that all orders placed before 3pm will ship the same day and will continually scale the operations of the warehouse for efficiency and rapid growth. We take control of our inventory because we know the affect it has on the customer experience - our motto “We Send Joy” is taken very seriously.

Responsibilities:

Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Researches in-bound and out-bound freight options and negotiates better rates and payment terms.

Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements and advising on needed actions. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the data storage system.

Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning warehouse employees tasks and following up on results.

Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains warehouse staff performance by coaching, counseling, and reviewing individual employee contribution.

Builds teamwork and contributes at all levels.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in warehouse management, including: Employee management, budget development, safety management, inbound freight and outbound shipping

Fluency with computers, printers and all applicable equipment including scales, automated packaging systems, software, etc)

Bachelors degree, or equivalent education

Valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive vehicles without exposing the company to liability risks.

Pass all background checks and random drug screening.

Work additional hours on occasion to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.

Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Must be able to lift, move, and carry boxes up to 75 lbs and handle the physical demands of the job.

 

To be successful in this role, you must understand ecommerce, warehouse management, inbound and outbound shipping and freight, be a great leader and motivator yet be willing to get your hands dirty. Must be approachable with a positive attitude and support the rest of the company.
